Amazing and very strange isn't it? By that evening the mum was remembering quite a bit more but it was a slow process of clawing back more and more memories.
Questions to consider...
- The human brain is a complex thing! Some people have asked, 'Will the human brain ever be able to fully understand the human brain?' What do you think?
- We're probably not stuck in a 90 second loop right now (or at least I hope not) but in some ways perhaps we do find ourselves repeating the same mistakes rather then learning from them. Can you think of examples of this from your own life?
- How we think affects everything we say and do. Our minds are important. What are you feeding your mind that is helpful? Are you feeding your mind unhelpful things?
- The Bible says, 'Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind' (Romans 12:2). What do you think of this idea?
God, thank you for giving us complex and amazing minds that absorb incredible amounts of information and are capable of all kinds of creativity. We know that our minds are freely capable of incredibly negative things too so please help us to think carefully, to feed our minds well and to never stop learning. Amen.
